Family Day Hike- June

Join us on an adventure out of daily life and into the wilderness with your family. We will immerse ourselves in nature and with kindness and acceptance we support one another to be with our emotions and our own experiences of grief. This is a beginner friendly hike for families with children of all ages. Please leave pets at home; service animals are always welcome. Our skilled hike leaders will set a pace that accommodates the group.

What’s a grief hike? Every grief hike begins with an opening circle, an acknowledgement of who is here and who we are carrying in our hearts. Then we walk in silence for 10 minutes. Soon the group morphs and changes, forming small groupings or solitary walkers.  Conversations can be deep or light, mixing the here and now with our shut away places. And there are times of walking with another in silence. We acknowledge that each of us is somewhere in our grief journey and are welcome. After our lunch break and there is another invitation to share as a group. We end with a closing circle. Because this is a family hike, we will also include child specific conversations and activities.
